The beautiful event, held at The Calyx in the Royal Botanic Gardens on Thursday 26th October, delivered nine awards across diverse categories including sport, fashion design and social media. A record 49,000 Cosmo readers voted for their favourites across the categories.
The Calyx, already so gorgeous with its very own arc glasshouse and wall of plants and flowers (and the occasional lady bug and bee), was beautifully decorated with even more flowers, mark. products and a mark. make up station, perfect for a lip or eye touch up after lunch. Upon arrival, everyone received bubbles while mingling and having photos taken with the media. A delicious three course lunch was served, during which the awards were announced, recognising some very amazing and inspiring women.
Guests including Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Sylvia Jeffreys, Samantha Armytage, Georgia Love and Nicole De Silva watched on as awards went to Bree Johnson and Jess Hatzis, founders of Frank Body (Entrepreneur of the Year), Katherine Langford, actress, 13 Reasons Why (Performer of the Year) and Elle Ferguson (Social Media Star of the Year, Fashion) and the latest Bachelorette, Sophie Monk ( Tv/radio personality of the year), to name a few. Our President and Managing Director, Sharon Plant graciously announced the winner of the Social Media Star of the Year, Beauty, none other than Lauren Curtis, with over 1.5 million followers on Instagram. The event concluded with Kerri-Anne Kennerley, multi- talented TV personality and bona fide Aussie legend, being inducted into the Cosmo Women of the Year Hall of Fame.
